After Rubi's husband Hector's unexpected death. He wrote in his will to have all his money go to his wife Rubi. Once she gets a hold on it. Rubi & Hector's bussiness partners set it up so Rubi could lose all her fortune in a split second. Thier bussiness partners did it because they know the only reason Rubi married Hector was for his money. She is also paying for the evil things she has done in the past. This scene happened in the Final 2-hour episode of Rubi.
